Mostly it’s a gas, but there’s times like when the fish are uncooperative, of spending a week getting a transmission coupling off that I think it’s just not worth it.  But, I’m fortunate in that every time I come in and tell Connie, “That’s it, we’re selling that damn boat….,” she tells me keep it.  I’m not sure why, though.  Maybe it’s because Charter Fishing has become our way of life.

And since I’ve done many foolish things in my life, I went straight on and did it.  And, let me tell you, it’s kind of like that song-“Mama’s, don’t let your boys grow up to be cowboys…..”

 In addition to my duties as Captain, I also serve as MAGIC’s mechanic, carpenter, electrician, painter, bottom scrubber, and what ever else it takes to keep her 28,000 lbs. of juniper and iron afloat and working.
